Founder & Owner

Lightning Heart Studios brings together two sides of my background that have always gone hand in hand: technology and creativity.

I’ve spent more than 20 years working in technology across government, education, private industry, and small business. My experience includes managing the City of Bloomington’s technology support operations, serving as a systems and infrastructure engineer for Monroe County Community School Corporation, and designing enterprise solutions for schools, manufacturers, businesses, and government organizations at Matrix Integration.

Along the way, I’ve led complex projects involving networks, servers, telecommunications, physical security, audiovisual systems, and critical infrastructure. At Monroe County Community School Corporation, I helped manage enterprise technology across 27 facilities serving more than 10,000 students and staff. I administered the district’s Cisco VoIP system for nearly 1,300 users, led the design and deployment of more than 1,300 security cameras, and managed district-wide network replacement projects. I’ve also designed and supported websites, hosting environments, cloud systems, workflow automations, payment systems, and custom business applications.

I earned degrees in Software Programmer/Analyst, Web Management, and PC Support & Administration from Ivy Tech Community College, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. I also received the Outstanding Student Award and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Creativity has been part of my life just as long. I began playing music at age 10 in marching, concert, jazz, and rock bands, and I’ve been recording in studios since I was 15. As a performing musician, I’ve played venues throughout Indiana, including Bloomington’s Bluebird and the Bill Monroe Music Park.

For a decade, I operated Lake Effect Lighting, providing professional stage lighting and sound for concerts, festivals, community events, weddings, and other productions throughout Indiana. While operating Lake Effect Lighting, I also founded and ran Lightning Heart Productions for 10 years, producing and promoting concerts, festivals, and community events.

I booked artists including 14-time Grammy winner Dan Tyminski—whose voice is featured in O Brother, Where Art Thou?—along with acclaimed singer-songwriter Todd Snider, Chicago Farmer, and many others. I also created and produced events such as Forever Fest, Shine On Music Fest, Riddle Point Boogie I and II, and Runway Day at the Monroe County Airport.

My creative work has also included recording and editing audio and video, hosting a local music program on WFHB, and producing oral-history interviews for the Indiana Music History Project.

I founded Lightning Heart Studios to bring these experiences together. I approach every project by looking at the whole picture: what you want to accomplish, how the technology needs to work, how people will use it, and how the finished product represents your organization.

Clients work directly with me, with trusted contractors and collaborators brought in when a project requires additional expertise or production support.
